Al Pfingstl reports that his new book about the Lincoln Highway in New Jersey is available from him for $19.95 + $3.00 shipping. That’s because Al is a one-man operation ā writer, designer, publisher, and bookseller. His book arrived and it’s packed with info about towns, buildings, monuments, and markers. It’s broken into chapters by county and features some maps courtesy of MapQuest. Note that it does not include roadside businesses such as motels and diners but is rather a look at local history.

How can someone write a book about the Lincoln Highway and not include any roadside businesses in it?

I left the roadsider diner / eatery business’ to Brian Butko and his up and coming book – “Lincoln Highway Companion”. My book is a collection of cultural and historical sites on and along the Lincoln Highway for preservation sake, as such is slowly disappearing.
